godz. 11:30 – 12:30 wykład pt. Religion in International Relations, s. 308;
godz. 13:15 – 14:30 wykład pt. Globalization and Religion, aula 103.Opis wykładów:Religion in International RelationsThe lecture will focus on the comparative analysis between Europe and the United States, explaining the concepts of secularization, secularism, how they apply in each case, using some statistics as well to illustrate the evolution, and the discussion in the case of the United States, on the so called „God strategy,” the way of instrumentalization of religion, and its use for electoral agenda of certain candidates to the American Presidency.
Globalization and ReligionThe lecture will discuss main changes brought along by globalization, such as the rise of fundamentalism. The case study will be dedicated to the 9/11 events, and then to the overall Islamist terrorism, and religious justifications for terrorism. Other two case studies included in the presentation will discuss the Iranian revolution of 1979 and the 1989 Polish Revolution, with a focus on the Holy Alliance between President R. Reagan and Pope John Paul II.
